Sheffield police officer sentenced two years in jail for assault, menacing, reckless endangerment

SHEFFIELD, Ala. — A Sheffield police officer has been sentenced to two years in jail after being convicted on charges of assault, reckless endangerment, and menacing in connection with an incident in December 2022.

Lieutenant Max Dotson was accused of hitting Demarcus Key multiple times in the face and mouth and pointing a gun at him at the Good Spirits store in Sheffield.
