HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — There's some good news in the Tennessee Valley as we keep track of the 2020 U.S. Census.
More than seventy percent of Madison County residents have completed the census. Huntsville comes in at more than 67%. Overall the state of Alabama is a little over 58%.
'Alabama Counts' Chairman Kenneth Boswell says it's good to see communities challenge each other in completing the census.
"I think once they see the bigger population participating, it makes those that are either on the line or either thinking negatively toward it, say if 'well hey if they can do it, why can't I do it," says Boswell.
You're encouraged to complete the U.S. Census now, but there's an extension until October 31st.
