SOMERVILLE, Ala. — Fresh Value has announced the grand opening of its newest location, bringing a much-needed grocery store to the Somerville community on Dec. 5.
The store, located on Hwy 67 S near Hwy. 36 E, will officially open its doors at 7 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m.
FOX54's previously reported that Fresh Value would take over the anchor space at Crossroads Center.
Shoppers have extra incentive to visit during the opening weekend. The first 100 customers on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday that week will receive a free bag of groceries.
"It's been far too long since Somerville had a local grocery store," the company said in a statement. "We are thrilled to finally bring fresh, affordable food and unbeatable savings to the community."
The location previously housed a Piggly Wiggly and later a $ave More Family Market.
Hours of operation will be Mon.-Sun. from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Fresh Value, a family-owned business since 1951, now operates 14 stores across Alabama under the Fresh Value and Meat Depot brands.
