HUNTSVILLE, Ala. —
One special needs program has touched hundreds of lives here in the Valley. But, with all the changes, they’re struggling during the pandemic.
Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center in Huntsville gives performing arts, music and dance classes to adults and children with special needs.
Each year, the students spend months practicing for their spring showcase “Dream Big”. It’s also one of their biggest fundraisers.
This year’s show had to be cancelled, along with all their other spring activities. Now, they’re trying to make up the funds they’ve lost so they can keep their programs running.
They've started a Facebook fundraiser to raise the money that they would have made during the spring shows. Access the fundraiser here.
We met up with Jen DiCarlo, Outreach Director of Merrimack Hall. She tells us, "That money is going right back into the programs when we start... and then hopefully being able to put on a show... when we can eventually come back."
They say, any little bit helps.
