Huntsville man fatally shot outside Center Point area Waffle House

Local media reports Cristall Hereford allegedly made threats to shoot restaurant patrons before he was shot by another customer.

CENTER POINT, Ala. — Jefferson County authorities are seeking tips about a weekend shooting outside a Waffle House restaurant that left a Huntsville man dead. The county coroner identified the man as 26-year-old Cristall Terrell Hereford.

Deputies were called to the Center Point restaurant about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, after an emergency call stating a man had threatened to shoot patrons.

When they arrived, Hereford was found with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local media cites authorities as saying Hereford had been the subject making threats to shoot other customers. They said another store patron got into an altercation with and then later shot Hereford before leaving the scene. 

Jefferson County Crime Stoppers is still actively seeking tips in their investigation of the case. They ask anyone with information regarding the shooting to call 205-254-7777.
