HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — May is Asian Pacific Islanders American Heritage Month, and artwork from local students is on display to celebrate. Rosie's International Services created the exhibit at the Huntsville Main Library.
Students learned the history of Asian- Pacific Heritage while drawing and sewing their artwork. Rosie Douglas of Rosie's International Services says that some students as a team made a custom display honoring the Asian Pacific Heritage.
According to their mission statement, Rosie's International Services, Inc. is "about bringing cultural awareness and understanding of the Asian Pacific Islanders American cultures to our youth and the community. Our diverse corporation is exclusively focused on building critical literacy, communication, computational, and collaboration skills of young people who will one day form the local businesses, military, and community workforce."
