MERIDIANVILLE, Ala. — Madison County investigators say charges are likely following a shooting in a Meridianville neighborhood Friday evening, injuring a 15-year-old.
Officials say the shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. on Edisto Circle, just north of Oscar Patterson Rd. in the Bermuda Lakes subdivision.
In an update posted to social media Saturday evening, the Madison County Sheriff's office confirmed the victim, a 15-year-old, was shot in the chest. The teen remains in Huntsville Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
"Sheriff’s detectives have concluded their initial investigation into the shooting incident and have determined that the shooting was accidental," the Sheriff's Office wrote.
"While detectives anticipate that charges will be filed concerning the incident, no further details are available."
