MERIDIANVILLE, Ala. — It's a cold and rainy Halloween weekend, but families are still out and about looking to have fun.
At Tate Farms, instead decorating pumpkins, they they smashed them on the Day of Pumpkin Destruction. Employees prepared for this day and they weren't going to let a little rain get in the way.
Charify Shiflett and Hannah Duck-Mason, who work at Tate Farms, said, "From the first day we start, it's like building up to this, and even though its raining we're having our best time ever."
Families were having a blast, too.
Dustin Fleming talked about their day. "Family fun day, right? We get to destroy some pumpkins, we get to come out here and enjoy a great day with the family, and thank god, even though all the rain, wet and cold, this is what its all about."
And Dustin's kids were having a blast in the corn crib. "There's tons of corn inside these big tubs. They're going to run around there like chickens with their heads cut off."
And all of the adventures are fun, but for him, the best part of Halloween is just spending time with family. Dustin says, "Have a great Halloween, enjoy the time with your family. You get this time with your kids for a very short time in life, so enjoy this time with your children."
