ARAB, Ala. — Heads up City of Arab residents! Trash fees will be going up from $11.36 to $15.00 per month starting June 1. The new increase comes after a new contract with Arrow Disposal Service Inc. (ADSI), marking a change after two decades of service with the previous household garbage contractor.
Distribution of new cans will start this week. The new ASDI cans will be blue with grey lids. Each new can will include an information flyer and sticker detailing the service day. People are advised not to use the new cans until their old ones are removed. ADSI will begin using those new cans on Monday, June 3. Republic Services will continue servicing households until the last week of May when they will remove their cans.
Starting out, only one trash can per account will be provided to each City of Arab customer in May. Additional carts will be delivered after confirming all households have received their new cart. Customers wishing to add an extra trash can to their account are encouraged to wait until July.
Trash collection will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The City of Arab advises people to place trash cans curbside by 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled pickup day to ensure collection. ADSI trucks will be equipped with cameras to monitor trash availability. It is important to note that these changes are specific to household garbage pickup. The City’s brush and recycling services will not be effected.
For further information, residents are encouraged to contact the City of Arab.
