Four people were injured Monday night when a pickup truck backed onto the patio of the Chipotle Restaurant on Beltline Road in Decatur.
According to Decatur Police, when officers responded to a call from the location, they found a Falkville Police Department vehicle in the restaurant’s patio. Two adults and two children were taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital.
One of the children was later airlifted to receive further treatment.
A spokesperson with DPD said the Falkville officer reported that he had parked and gone into the restaurant when the truck began to roll backwards. The initial investigation revealed a possible malfunction with the vehicle after a “Shift Sys Fault” message appeared on the dashboard.
The Falkville Police Department responded and towed the vehicle.
