HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is set to open its first Alabama location in Huntsville's MidCity district on November 8, with open interviews running from September 23 to October 18.
"Our team will be onside, Monday to Friday," said Tupelo Honey Talent Manager Jennifer Bradley. "We start our hiring process about four weeks out from when we're actually going to start training people," said Tupelo Honey Vice President of People & Culture Alesha Sisk.
The interviews will take place at the Holiday Inn Huntsville – Research Park, located at 5903 University Drive, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Bradley said, "We're hiring over 90 employees to really fill some of those slots and really bring some of that amazing Southern hospitality." Sisk said, "We expect a big turnout when we open in a new location and we like to make sure that we are staffed well enough to give our guests the experience that they've had."
The restaurant is looking for people to fill several spots in different areas ahead of opening day. "We are hiring servers, we're hiring our hosts, we're hiring server support cooks, dishwashers, basically anyone who wants to learn a little bit about the restaurant business in the hospitality industry. We'd love to see you in Tupelo honey.," said Bradley.
Officials say they're looking for a lot of people to help with growing expectations. "We are growing so rapidly and that is a wonderful place, a very exciting place to be in the industry right now," said Bradley. We want to make sure that experience is really great and you can't do that if you don't have the people in order to staff your restaurant ," said Sisk.
Applicants will have the opportunity to interview with the management team and can apply on-site. It is recommended that candidates bring two forms of ID and a resume.
In addition to in-person interviews, candidates are encouraged to apply online before the event, although computer access will be available on-site.
