FLORENCE, Ala. — The band program at the University of North Alabama received a resolution from the Alabama State Senate recognizing its 75th anniversary today.
The UNA band also received a commendation from Governor Kay Ivey recognizing this accomplishment.
“We are grateful to Dr. Larry Stutts who arranged for us to receive these two pieces of official recognition,” says Dr. Lloyd Jones, the Director of UNA Bands. “We are thrilled to have this official acknowledgement for the hard work and dedication of the students to the program throughout the decades."
In addition to this recent recognition, the band was invited to participate in the 2025 Macy's Day Thanksgiving Day Parade. They are selling holiday ornaments to fund their travel to New York City.
