DECATUR, Alabama — The family of Josiah Flood, an 18-year-old Austin High School senior tragically killed in a weekend motorcycle accident, will hold a visitation and celebration of life service on Sunday.
The event will take place at Beltline Church of Christ in Decatur, with visitation from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed immediately by a celebration of life service at the same location.
Flood, a vibrant senior who participated in the Career Academies welding program and played football last season, died Saturday in a motorcycle crash on I-565 in Huntsville. Family friend Tim Hall described Josiah as "kind, smart, fun loving, and someone who loved God and his family so very much."
The young man leaves behind his parents, brothers, and a sister who recently graduated from Austin High School. The loss has deeply impacted the Decatur community, with local officials and community members rallying to support the grieving family.
Decatur Mayor Tab Bowling has already contributed to a GoFundMe established by Hall to help cover Flood's final expenses.
Roselawn Funeral Home is managing the funeral arrangements.
Those wishing to support the Flood family can contribute to the GoFundMe campaign established in Josiah's memory.
