FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Getting prepared for the cold weather, Marked For Life Ministries, The City of Fort Payne, and the DeKalb County Emergency Management Agency are opening an emergency warming station for the community. Starting on January 14, an emergency warming station will be open for anyone in need.
Logan LeGrande, the Executive Director of Marked For Life Ministries, says that supporting neighbors is their top priority.
"We want everyone to understand that our organization is here for them. Facing the cold alone, especially in dangerous temperatures, is something no one should have to go through," LeGrande said.
If you or someone you know requires shelter or assistance, reach out to the crisis line at 888.789.4673. For the location information of the warming station, Marked For Life Ministries asks that you call ahead to ensure you receive the most up-to-date details. Volunteers to staff the warming station are also needed.
In a collaborative effort, Marked For Life Ministries has engaged the local church and community through their Deliver Hope projects. Last year, the outreach initiatives helped over 4,000 DeKalb County residents, creating connections and addressing critical needs. The ongoing Deliver Hope Projects are designed to provide year-round support, aiming to narrow the gaps in poverty and bring hope to community members.
