DECATUR, Ala. — The Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association (AMLA) has expanded the Waterfalls of North Alabama Trail, adding 13 new stops to the popular route, bringing the total to 27 destinations. The updated brochure offers information on each waterfall, including descriptions, maps, GPS coordinates, best viewing times, and accessibility details.

Karen Beasley, AMLA's Vice President of Marketing and Communications, explained that the decision to expand the trail was made to highlight more of the region's waterfalls. “The 16 counties of the North Alabama region are home to dozens and dozens of waterfalls and we thought why limit it to 14 spots. After careful consideration, 27 must see locations were handpicked for you to awe over. We hope by expanding the trail, more people will be inspired to visit, and that it will also encourage those that have already visited to come again and enjoy these additional cascading beauties.”

The new locations added include Sougahoagdee Falls, Larkwood Falls, Lost Sink Falls, Congo Falls, Mize Mill Falls, Shangri-La Falls, White Creek Falls, Dry Falls, Parker Falls, Walls of Jericho, Alum Hollow Trail, Yellow Creek Falls, and Griffin Falls.

The brochure is available for download online, offering visitors a comprehensive guide to exploring North Alabama's waterfalls. There is also ways to follow the trail with the mobile-exclusive passport.
