HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The woman who was arrested after hitting two Huntsville police officers with her car at Parkway Place Mall earlier this year pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree assault, according to court records.
22-year-old Kadieza Timmons entered the guilty plea on June 21, nearly six months following the January 31 incident.
Two officers were struck by Timmons' car while responding to an accident in the mall parking lot, police officials reported. While talking to one of the drivers involved in the original crash, Timmons attempted to flee the scene, hitting the officers.
The driver was taken into custody a short time later near the mall.
Court records show Timmons was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by three years probation. She must also pay a $1,000 fine.
