Would you give CBD oil to your pets?

Experts say giving animals a small dose of CBD oil could keep them calm during the holiday fireworks.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Fireworks will be starting as early as tonight to celebrate Independence Day.

The loud noises could be stressful for pets and veterans. Experts say there is something than can help with that.

CBD oil is recommended to relieve health issues like anxiety and depression. If someone you know is nervous about this weekend, it could be a temporary solution.

CBD oil is made from a cannabis plant, but it is not the same as marijuana. CBD, unlike THC, does not get you high or cause a state of euphoria. As of March 2020, it has not been approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

Although it is not FDA approved, there are several CBD stores right under your nose in Madison County.

Linda Jones the owner of The Green Lady CBD Dispensary says, "Well actually, we've been selling CBD to people that are anxious about fireworks for the last two weeks now. There's already been a lot of fireworks that have been shot in Huntsville and it's going to continue for the next week or so."

Talk with your doctor before trying CBD. It comes in different concentrations so it’s important to use CBD oil responsibly and carefully.

“It’s amazing what CBD does. It actually just brings it right down. It takes care of that anxiety,” Jones said.
