WZDX and TEGNA Foundation award Community Grants to Harris Home for Children and Crisis Services North Alabama

Grants will be used for by Harris Home for an after-school program and CSNA for their Direct Victim's Assistance Fund.

TEGNA Foundation awarded Community Grants to Harris Home for Children and Crisis Services North Alabama.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Harris Home for Children and Crisis Services North Alabama were the most recent recipients of grants from WZDX and the TEGNA Foundation.

The Harris Home for Children will use their grant for their after-school BOOST program. The program serves over 50 residents in middle and high school and provides tutoring, assistance with homework and special assignments, and college/vocational programs and GED prep. One-on-one assistance is available for students who need extra help, 

CSNA will use their grant for its Direct Assistance to Victims Fund. COVID-19 has reduced the opportunities for those leaving a violent home situation to find space in shelters. The fund allows CNSA to help victims quickly get into safe an healthy housing,

The TEGNA Foundation awards community grants to non-profit organizations in their markets.
