Saturday afternoon, people in Huntsville came together to show their support to the family of fallen officer, Billy Clardy III, who was shot and killed on duty just over 2 weeks ago.
A fundraiser was held in his honor.
Music, drinks, family— all things brought together to help celebrate the life of Officer Clardy. Local musicians played at the Rocket Republic Downtown at no cost. And encouraged people to come by, grab a beer and share in a night of music. A portion of the proceeds are going to the Clardy Family.
Organizers say, it’s a small gesture to hopefully help a family and law enforcement community that has suffered a great loss. Mark Hogan tells us everyone can help support in some way.
Mark Hogan from Rocket Republic says “Coming down, supporting, going to the website. I think just thanking officers while their on duty. Anything helps and I know a lot of them are really broken up about this so just any kind of support– it doesn’t have to be monetary.”
The fundraiser will end at midnight. But, you can still give to the Clardy family. Huntsville Police Department invites people to click here to find out how to give.
Redstone Federal Credit Union has also opened an account to take donations for the Clardy Family. Monetary donations can be made to the BILLY CLARDY MEMORIAL FUND at any Redstone Federal Credit Union location. (The account will remain open for six months)
