Due to the heavy amount of rain and storms we got this spring, construction at MidCity had been inching along. The recent break in rain gave workers the chance to get back on track.

They began working on the development back in 2017. Now, there are several businesses open and many more to come.

MidCity is a mixed-use development right in the middle of Huntsville, and much of it is still under construction.

Lindsey Pattillo Keane, Marketing and Property Activation for RCP Companies, said, “Top Golf opened first, and that was in December of 2017, so it’s just been non-stop ever since then. Of course, anyone in construction in the past few years, the rain has been a little bit of a set back but nothing that these teams can’t handle, so we’re back on track.”

Along with Top Golf, MidCity is already home to High Point Climbing and The Camp.

“The Camp is to give people kind of sights and sounds and tastes of what the whole development will be. It’s this very come as you are, stay as long as you’d like, enjoy food, enjoy drink, music, farmers markets, movie nights,” said Pattillo Keane.

The next businesses to open at MidCity are REI Co-op and Dave and Busters. They’re scheduled to open this fall. Wahlburgers and Pies and Pints will be opening this year.

High Point’s outdoor climbing wall is being built now. People can also expect to see 300 residential units popping up soon.

Once MidCity is complete, there will be shops, restaurants, entertainment spots, and places to stay and live.

“MidCity is an 18-hour district, so the intention is for people to come and park and take over MidCity. Enjoy the food, enjoy the music, and enjoy the attractions, climb and golf. It’s an all encompassing experience,” said Pattillo Keane.

There is no set deadline, but they hope to have the entire MidCity development open by 2025.
