HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The wife of a Huntsville Police Officer is spreading the message that police are more than officers when they take off their uniform.
Britt Harrell posted pictures of her kids holding a sign that said “Our Daddy’s Life Matters.” In her Facebook post, she said “I think people forget that police officers are more than police officers when they take off the uniform. They are husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts. They are so much more. They matter, their lives matter.”
Harrell’s husband is a member of the bomb squad with the Huntsville Police Department.
This year in Alabama, six officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty. Huntsville Police Officer Billy Clardy III was shot and killed Dec. 6, leaving behind his wife and five children.
