2020 Alabama voter turnout compared to 2016 election

Secretary of State data shows that voter turnout was approximately 5% lower in 2020 than it was in 2016 as of 2:50 p.m. on Nov. 4.

The 2020 Alabama voter turnout rate in 2020 was approximately 5% lower than it was in 2016 as of 2:50 p.m. on Nov. 4.

As of 2:50 p.m., 2,293,823 total ballots were cast out of 3,708,804 total registered voters in Alabama in 2020 for a voter turnout rate of 61.85%, according to the Secretary of State's website.

Data from the Alabama Secretary of State shows that 2,137,482 total ballots were cast out of 3,198,703 total registered voters in Alabama in 2016 for a voter turnout rate of 66.8%.
