MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Associated Press has called Alabama Governor's race for Incumbent Alabama governor Kay Ivey. She will hold her seat in the Alabama capitol for another four years after defeating Democrat challenger Yolanda Flowers and Libertarian candidate James Blake in the 2022 Midterm Election.
Several other incumbents, including Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth, U.S. Representative Robert Aderholt (R- D4), State Attorney General Steve Marshall, State Treasurer Young Boozer, Agriculture Commissioner Rick Pate, hold strong leads in the polls. Limestone County Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin, appointed after the conviction of former sheriff Mike Blakely on ethics charges, holds a large lead over his Independent challenger Randy King.
