What to know about Huntsville's 2024 Municipal Elections

Districts 1 and 5 will select a council member and school board member on Tuesday, August 27.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Click here for Huntsville and Scottsboro Municipal Election results. Runoff elections, if necessary, will be held on Sept. 24.

Tuesday, August 25 will be an election day for two of Huntsville's city districts. On that day, residents in Districts 1 and 5 will select a city council member and a school board member.

Election day would have also included a race for mayor, but incumbent Tommy Battle was declared the winner of the race back in June, as he went unopposed after the qualification period.

The winner of this race will fill the seat vacated by Michelle Watkins, who left in order to run for the city council position.

District 5

City Council Candidates:

The winner of this race will fill the seat vacated by Will Culver, who left in order to run for the District 1 school board position.

School Board Candidates:

Voting will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the impacted districts. Verify your voter registration information at AlabamaVotes.gov and visit this page to find your nearest polling location.
