Progress is being made at Ditto Landing on the Aldridge Creek bridge which was closed in 2007, crews continuing their work Thursday morning. When the bridge opens back up it will be for pedestrian use, according to Brandi Quick, Executive Director at Ditto Landing.
The bridge repairs must be made before they can work on the greenway, which will be two miles heading west from Ditto and will connect back at the Hayes Greenway and the Grissom Greenway.
“We will have a full loop all around south Huntsville– so all the way up to Weatherly Road, you’ll be able to take the Aldridge Creek Greenway down, come through Ditto Landing, and continue on our greenways and then go through Hayes and the new greenways they’re building there and the Grissom Greenway,” said Quick.
The bridge and the greenway will open up at the same time, after work on both is complete. That’s expected to be in late winter or early spring.
