Pumpkin picking opens at Tate Farms

You have over 80 acres to pick your perfect pumpkin of any shape and size.

It’s officially fall and that means it’s officially pumpkin picking season at Tate Farms.

Monday is opening day at the farm for their 24th season as a pumpkin patch destination. You have over 80 acres to pick your perfect pumpkin of any shape and size.

There’s also a ton of activities to do while you’re there, including a hayride, hay maze, barn yard playground, and corn trails. Folks came out on opening day for this family tradition.

“We’ve got a little measure guy there and the children come every year, parents get a picture of how they’ve grown,” said Lisa Stratton who works at the farm. “And then we’ve got a pumpkin house where the classrooms come and get their pictures. The teachers love that.”

The family fun is open until October 31st during the week from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
