The holiday season is one we normally think of as a happy time, but it can be a tough period for some people. One local group wants you to know that they’re here to help 7 days a week, and you don’t even have to leave your house.

Crisis Services of North Alabama has a “Text-Line”. All you have to do is text the number, tell them what you’re dealing with– and they say they’re here to help.

The text line is popular among teens. Crisis Services says they really want young adults to know, it’s a fast and anonymous way to deal with high stress situations.

We met with Connie Kane, the Clinical Director at Crisis Services of North Alabama. She tells us, “People don’t realize how much we want to be heard, and that’s a lot of what we do through the help line and through the text line. Just taking the time to listen to people.”

The number for the Crisis Services of North Alabama “Crisis Text Line” is (256)-722-8219.

If you, or anyone you know is in need of suicide crisis prevention, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1(800)-273-TALK.

You can also receive local assistance from Crisis Services of North Alabama using their 24/7 HELPline at (256) 716-1000.
