BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Alabama Big 10 Mayors today kicked off their second annual statewide photo competition, allowing Alabamians to submit their photos from the state’s ten biggest cities with a chance to be recognized as the winner and receive a cash prize.
This photo competition will launch on Tuesday, July 2. Participants can submit entries until Sept. 2, with voting to conclude on Sept. 8.
Alabamians wishing to participate in this photo competition will be asked to submit photos from one of the state’s ten largest cities via direct message to the Alabama Big 10 Mayors Facebook page. The Alabama Big 10 Mayors will then share these posts through social media, and the photo that receives the most likes will be deemed the winner. The winner will receive a $500 Visa gift card and recognition as competition winner from the Alabama Big 10 Mayors’ platform.
Cities included in the Alabama Big 10 Mayors organization are Auburn, Birmingham, Decatur, Dothan, Hoover, Huntsville, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa.
The Alabama Big Ten Mayors released the following statement on this photo competition:
"Alabama’s cities are vibrant centers of life across our state,” said the Alabama Big 10 Mayors. “From the Tennessee Valley to the coast, each of the Big 10 cities is full of art, architecture, history, culture, and natural beauty – this contest is a great way for Alabamians to show their city pride through a camera lens.”
“We encourage all Alabamians with an artistic eye for the camera to snap some photos, submit it for this competition, and give your city a chance to win.”
