HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A statewide Fire Danger Advisory has been lifted by the Alabama Forestry Commission.
Recent rainfall, cooler temperatures, and increased humidity have reduced wildfire risks, according to the AFC.
Despite the improved conditions, much of the state continues to experience drought. The AFC is closely monitoring the situation and may reissue the advisory if necessary.
Residents are still encouraged to use caution with outdoor burning. The AFC recommends keeping fires under control by using proper tools, having a water source nearby, and ensuring all fires are completely extinguished and "cold to the touch" before leaving them unattended.
Over the past 30 days, nearly 3,000 acres burned in wildfires across Alabama. While the immediate threat has lessened, the AFC stresses the importance of safe burning practices to prevent further incidents.
