HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Forbes partnered with a research firm to rank the best employers in every state.
Coming in at No. 1 in Alabama was Northrop Grumman, followed by Home Instead Senior Care in second place and the Alabama Department of Public Health in third out of 45.
For companies in the Huntsville area, Huntsville Hospital Health System ranked No. 24 on the list.
Forbes and the research firm, Statista, surveyed more than 160,000 employees working for companies with at least 500 people in the United States. Participants were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer, to evaluate employers they had worked for within the past two years and organizations they knew within their industry or through friends or family who worked there.
Those responses were incorporated into a scoring system with survey data from the past three years.
Aerospace & Defense companies dominated the top 10 spots including companies such as NASA and RTX. The ones at the bottom of the list include Shelby County School District, Southeastern Grocers, and AT&T.
