MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Governor Kay Ivey announced on Monday that Alabama will allocate $3.1 million in state funding for road and bridge projects across various cities and counties.

This funding is part of the Alabama Department of Transportation’s Annual Grant Program, established by the Rebuild Alabama Act. Since its passage in 2019, this initiative has been crucial in improving local infrastructure throughout the state.

Governor Ivey expressed her commitment to these upgrades, stating, "From day one of the Ivey Administration, I have made clear to the people of our state that improving Alabama’s roads and bridges is a top priority, and I am proud we continue delivering on that promise.”

DeKalb County is set to benefit from this funding, which is complemented by local matching contributions. The projects are expected to begin within a year, further enhancing transportation safety and accessibility in the area.
