MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The office of Alabama governor Kay Ivey on Monday announced a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for an explosive device which detonated last month outside the office of Attorney General Steve Marshall.
The device was detonated just before 4 a.m. on Feb. 24 outside Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall's office in Montgomery.
“Thankfully, no staff or personnel were injured by the explosion,” Marshall said.
The Mobile field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation released a flyer on Feb. 29 containing closed-circuit security camera images of a person they said "may have information related to this crime." The person is seen walking up to the building and looking through the doors shortly before the detonation. The images appear to show a man wearing dark clothes including a beanie-style hat and a blue face mask.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said troopers assigned to their Protective Services Division and Special Agents assigned to ALEA’s Hazardous Device Unit (HDU), along with Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Officers from Montgomery Police Department, responded to the scene and deemed the area safe
Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to please contact the State Bureau of Investigation immediately at (334)-676-7890 or call the 24-hour crime hotline at 855-75-CRIME.
