Explosive device detonated outside Alabama attorney general's office

Steve Marshall confirmed no one was injured. He said the device was detonated early Saturday outside his Montgomery office.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — An explosive device was detonated outside Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall's office over the weekend, he said in a statement Monday.

Marshall confirmed no one was injured. He said the device was detonated early Saturday outside the office in downtown Montgomery.

“Thankfully, no staff or personnel were injured by the explosion,” Marshall said.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said troopers assigned to their Protective Services Division and Special Agents assigned to ALEA’s Hazardous Device Unit (HDU), along with Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Officers from Montgomery Police Department, responded to the scene and deemed the area safe
