Trash Pandas stadium taking shape as construction continues

Progress continues on the Trash Pandas stadium construction as fans countdown the days to the first game.

Drive by Town Madison, and you’ll notice the Trash Pandas stadium is starting to take shape.

New windows and walls are up, new steel and stone added, and concrete on the concourse freshly poured.

Trash Pandas CEO and Managing Partner Ralph Nelson says construction is moving along right on schedule. Something he says his team is working on are names — naming the concession stand and team store as well as naming the stadium.

“We’ll be announcing that in about two weeks,” said Nelson. “We have a naming partner that I think people will be very pleased about.”

Progress is also being made on the field. Next week, sand will be put down and topsoil will be laid out. In less than a month, grass will be on the field.

There will also be some fun features to look forward to. One of the final additions will be a swimming pool and lazy river.

“It’s going to be in center field,” said Nelson. “It won’t come through the field of course. It will come right up to the center field fence, and it will go back underneath a wall and into Margaritaville.”

The Margaritaville hotel will be next to the Trash Pandas Stadium.

Fans will also have another angle besides the stands to watch the game from.

“We have an area in right field where the tickets are $8 and people can come and lay down a blanket and see as good a view as people in the box seats,” he said.
