Braves Star Ozzie Albies in Jacksonville for Rehab Assignment

"I played here eight years ago, and when I came out yesterday and looked at the field, nothing had changed." -- Ozzie Albies

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Atlanta Braves star second baseman Ozzie Albies made a strong return to the field in Jacksonville while on a rehab assignment with the Gwinnett Stripers. Albies is recovering from a fractured left wrist, which sidelined him in July.

This wasn't Albies' first appearance at 121 Financial Ballpark. In 2016, he played in Jacksonville as a minor leaguer with the Stripers.

"I played here eight years ago, and when I came out yesterday and looked at the field, nothing had changed," Albies said. "When I was looking, I kind of watched myself play. I remember I hit a triple to the left-center gap and me running around. Then, I went and watched the video, so it was fun."

In his first game back from injury, Albies made an immediate impact. He went 2-for-3 at the plate, drew a walk, and smashed a three-run homer in the seventh inning, lighting up the Jumbo Shrimp.
