HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — JT Thor is thundering his way to Cleveland, multiple sources said Saturday.

The former Auburn Tiger most recently played for South Sudan in the Paris Games, nearly upsetting Team USA in this month's exhibition.

Thor is coming off a three-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets and announced his free-agency in June after the team declined their nearly $2 million option on him. Wire reports indicate Thor's deal with the Cavaliers is a two-way deal.

At 21 years old, Thor played in 63 regular-season games for Charlotte in the most recent season, averaging 3.2 points and 2.3 rebounds for 12.4 minutes.

He also shot 34.6 percent from deep with an average of 1.3 attempts per game.

Thor was a second-round pick for the Hornets in the 2021 NBA Draft.
