HUNTSVILLE, Ala — Alabama A&M football has added three student-athletes to its 2021 recruiting class on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.
Of the three players signed, two are ranked at least 3-stars by either 247Sports, 247Composite, or Rivals.com.
CJ Dixon Jr. I QB I 6-6 I 220 I Loganville, Ga. I Jirek Prep I Grayson HS
CJ Dixon Jr., of Loganville Georgia, was an ESPN 4-star recruit, the No. 13 pocket passer and the No. 194 overall prospect in the nation for the 2020 class. The quarterback completed 169 of 315 passes for 2,434 yards, 21 touchdowns and 8 interceptions for the 10-3 Rams as a senior in 2019. Dixon originally committed to Illinois before spending this past season at Jireh Prep School in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
Kaden McMullen I QB I 6-4 I 200 I O'Fallon, Mo. I Living Word Christian HS
McMullen is a 3-star recruit and the No. 34 ranked pro style quarterback by 247Sports Composite rankings. The O'Fallon, Missouri native passed for 6,898 yards and 73 TD while completing 62 percent of his passes in three years as a varsity player. The quarterback also ran for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career and was named both All-District and All-Conference as a senior. McMullen chose the Bulldogs over offers from Boise State, Fresno State, Missouri, Idaho, and Northern Illinois amongst others.
Malik Thomas I WR I 6-3 I 200 I Hoover, Ala. I Hoover HS
As a senior this past season at Hoover High School, Thomas recorded 45 receptions for 724 yards and 10 touchdowns to help lead the Buccaneers to the 7A State Football Semifinal Game. The receiver was ranked a top 10 receiver in the state by PME Sports and was named Second Team All-South Metro and Friday Night Rivals Player of the Week once this season. Thomas was invited to participate in the Hawaii Tiki Bowl, Elite Raw Talent All-American Bowl, as well as the Podyum Preps All-American Bowl.
