TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham plans to enter the NFL draft.
Latham started two seasons at left tackle for the Crimson Tide, and was named a second team All-American by the Associated Press, the FWAA, The Sporting News, and Walter Camp for his play in 2023. He was selected as a first team All-SEC player by both the AP and the league's coaches.
“I will always be thankful to coach (Nick) Saban and his staff for their commitment to developing me into the best version of myself both on and off the field,” Latham said. “My teammates and I have built bonds that will last a lifetime and it’s been the greatest honor of my life taking the field with them for the past 3 years.”
Latham joins outside linebacker Dallas Turner as the second Alabama player to declare for the draft, forgoing their senior years of eligibility. Both Latham and Turner are projected first round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, which takes place on Thursday, April 25.
Starting center Seth McLaughlin is among the Crimson Tide players who have entered the transfer portal.
At offensive tackle next season, Alabama returns starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor, who won the job as a freshman. To fill Latham's spot, the Crimson Tide may turn to Elijah Pritchett, a former highly-rated recruit who competed with Proctor for the left tackle position this season.
