Chad Moodie scores 24 points and leads Alabama A&M to a 81-71 victory over Austin Peay

Led by Chad Moodie's 24 points, the Alabama A&M Bulldogs defeated the Austin Peay Governors 81-71 on Wednesday night in the CIT.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Chad Moodie had 24 points in Alabama A&M's 81-71 win over Austin Peay on Wednesday night in the CIT.

Moodie added five rebounds for the Bulldogs (12-22). Omari Peek-Green scored 18 points while going 7 of 13 and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line and added seven rebounds. Caleb Blackwell had 13 points and shot 5 for 8, including 1 for 3 from beyond the arc.

Dezi Jones led Austin Peay with 21 points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal. Sai Witt chipped in 13 points, seven boards and two steals, while Dez White tallied 11 points and five boards. Demarcus Sharp, who fouled out, recorded 10 points, two assists, one rebound and one block.

Alabama A&M (12-22) advances to semifinals and will travel to Norfolk State for the John McLendon Classic on Saturday at Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall. Tip-off against the Spartans is set for 3 p.m (central time). Austin Peay concludes the season at 19-16.
