BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Dariauna Lewis was named the SWAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for a second time this season.
Following three weeks without a game, Lewis (Omaha, Neb.) led the Bulldogs' return to the court in a big way against Texas Southern this past weekend.
She scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and hauled in 15 rebounds to go with four blocks and a pair of assists in 32 minutes of play. That effort fueled a 73-50 victory over the Lady Tigers. On the season she is averaging 15.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks while shooting .568 from the floor. She is currently second in the SWAC in rebounding and field goal percentage, third in blocks per game and sixth in scoring.
