BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The McDonald’s Magic City Classic presented by Coca-Cola announced today that the 2024 Ambassador is acclaimed actor and philanthropist, Omari Hardwick.
Known for his captivating performances in hit shows like Power and Army of the Dead, Hardwick has become one of Hollywood’s most respected and versatile actors. Hardwick is deeply committed to giving back to the community and has actively participated in various charitable initiatives, including youth programs and support for aspiring artists. He was also part of the historic Rickwood Field Negro League celebration event in Birmingham, Alabama, and is a passionate advocate for the preservation of Rickwood Field.
As the Magic City Classic Ambassador, Hardwick will bring his charisma and passion to the nation's largest HBCU football rivalry. On gameday, Hardwick will kick off the McDonald’s Magic City Classic Parade on the McDonald’s float and help celebrate HBCU pride, community, and tradition at halftime.
The McDonald’s Magic City Classic presented by Coca-Cola brings fans and celebrities from around the country to watch as Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University battle it out for a potential spot in the SWAC Championship. Fans can also enjoy the McDonald’s Magic City Classic Parade, along with the Coors Light Tailgate Party at Legion Field. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th and the game will air live on ESPNU. The much-anticipated halftime show will feature The Mighty Marching Hornets and the Marching Maroon and White.
