Hughley announces AAMU Men's Basketball signees for 2024-25

AAMU men's head basketball coach Otis Hughley Jr added five new Bulldogs to his roster for next season.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Alabama A&M University head men's basketball coach Otis Hughley Jr. announced on Tuesday to the addition of five players for the upcoming season.

The Bulldogs welcomed the addition of signees Jaylen Colon, Darius Ford, Quincy McGriff, David Verstraeten and Warren Yeh.

Colon, who is a Puerto Rico National Team player and a two-time State Championship student-athlete, played at Kell High School, where he leaves as a 1,000-point scorer and most wins in program history. As a junior, registered the most 3-pointers in school history and broke the single-game record for triples with 12.

Ford comes to AAMU as a transfer from TCU, where he played in eight games last season for the Horn Frogs. He poured in a season-high five points in four minutes against Houston Christian.


McGriff transfers to the Bulldogs from Duquesne where he averaged 5.3 points and 1.8 rebounds during the 2022-23 season. He poured in a career-best 17 points, including five 3-pointers, at George Washington and grabbed a season-best eight boards at DePaul.

Verstraeten comes to AAMU as the No. 1 Under-20 Belgium Olympic National Team Player. In the 202 FIBU U18 European Championship Division B, he played in seven games, averaging 7.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

Warren Yeh, who was the No. 1 Under-19 Taiwan Olympic National Team Player, helped Bridgton Academy eclipse the 20-win and helped the Wolverines to the No.5 seed in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council- AAA (NEPSAC) Playoffs, as well as securing a slot in the National Prep Championship.

In the National Prep Showcase, Yeh hit several big shots down the stretch to force overtime against Fork Union, finishing the game with 21 points. In two games in the Showcase, Yeh averaged 17.5 points per game.
