FLORENCE, Ala. -- University of North Alabama head football coach Chris Willis has announced that current staff members Zach Lisko and Tyler Rice will share the Lions' offensive coordinator responsibilities in 2020, with Lisko as the run game coordinator and Rice as the pass game coordinator.
Rice will also move to quarterback coach from receivers and the Lions will be hiring a new receivers coach. Rice was previously pass game coordinator at the University of Tennessee-Martin. Lisko has been a member of the Lions' football staff since 2016, while Rice was hired at UNA this spring.
"Given the timing of Ryan Aplin leaving at the start of our spring practice and the way that Zach and Tyler handled some tough situations, I felt it was a good fit to have them do this together," Willis said. "They didn't have any time to prepare for Ryan leaving and just took it on in the spring and they did a great job.
"I talked to our team captains and other players, and with the outstanding spring that our offense had, I felt these guys deserve an opportunity," WIllis added. "I am all for helping guys that have been in our program and have proven themselves. Coach Aplin had never been an offensive coordinator before he came here.
Willis said this will be his first time having co-coordinators on offense.
The Lions completed their 2020 spring practice on March 6.
