FLORENCE, Ala. — The University of North Alabama men's basketball team has added another prep standout with the addition of Derajé Agbaosi to the roster. The 6-8 forward averaged 16 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots per game at PHH Prep out of Phoenix, Ariz.
Agbaosi is the fourth addition to the Lions program for the upcoming season, joining Daniel Ortiz, Damian Forrest and Omar Figueroa as newcomers eligible for the 2021-22 season.
"We are excited to add Deraje to our program," said UNA men's basketball head coach Tony Pujol. "He is an elite athlete with the size and ability to really protect the rim. Offensively, he can score from all three levels and will give us a lot of versatility at the forward spot. Most importantly, he is a great person and a perfect fit for the culture we have established with our program."
The PPH Fire went 34-11 last season. Agbaosi recorded a season-high 32 points and 18 rebounds against Rocktop Prep (Philadelphia). Prior to PHH, Deraje attended Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, N.M. where he averaged 16.5 points and 10 rebounds while leading his team to a 24-6 record during his senior year.
