Caleb Holt named 2023-24 Alabama MaxPreps High School Basketball Player of the Year

NEW MARKET, Ala. — Caleb Holt of Buckhorn (New Market) is the 2023-24 Alabama MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-5 sophomore wing led the Bucks to a 29-5 record and their second consecutive Class 6A state championship.

For the season, Holt averaged 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.4 assists per game. He tallied 16 points and 12 rebounds in Buckhorn's 52-51 win over Mountain Brook (Birmingham) in the title game.

Regarded as the No. 3 prospect in the Class of 2026 according to 247Sports, Holt has received offers from Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia, Houston, Kansas State, LSU, Mississippi and Mississippi State among others.
