Alabama A&M release men's basketball schedule for 2024-25

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. —

The Alabama A&M University men's basketball head coach Otis Hughley, Jr. revealed the 2024-25 schedule on Thursday, which features an MTE Tournament hosted by the Bulldogs, as well as SEC and ACC opponent matchups.

"We've got a group of great guys both on and off the court, who are ready to embrace every challenge and seize every opportunity".  

AAMU went 11-22 overall and 9-9 in Southwestern Atlantic Conference (SWAC) play last season and competed in the conference tournament before falling to Texas Southern 72-65 in the semifinals.  

The Bulldogs will open their non-conference slate with a pair of home games on Nov. 11 against Arkansas Baptist and Nov. 13 versus Fisk at 7 p.m. AAMU will have its first road tests against Tennessee State on Nov. 16 and against SEC opponent Georgia on Nov. 19. Alabama A&M will return to the Event Center to host the MTE Tournament on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23. The team will remain in Huntsville for their games against IUPUI and Lipscomb on Nov. 25 and Nov. 30 to wrap up their first month of action.  

After a short break, the Bulldogs will go on the road again to play UT-Chattanooga on Dec. 15 and UAB on Dec. 18. AAMU will host SoCon opponent Samford on Dec. 21 before battling against ACC opponent Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Dec. 28.  

AAMU will start its conference slate on Jan. 4 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Jan. 6 against Mississippi Valley State. The team will then travel to Mississippi to compete against Alcorn State on Jan.11 and Jackson State on Jan. 13. Back in Rocket city, the Bulldogs will host three straight games, first against rival Alabama State on Jan. 18, Texas Southern on Jan. 25 and will end the first month of conference play against Prairie View A&M on Jan. 27.  

In February, Alabama A&M will complete a Florida swing, traveling to Tallahassee to play Florida A&M on Feb. 1 and then some 250 miles Northwest to Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 3.  

Southern University and Grambling State will make the trip to the Event Center Feb. 8 and Feb. 10, before AAMU plays back-to-back road contests against Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Feb.15 and Feb. 17 respectively. The Bulldogs will host the final pair of home games against Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 22 and Florida A&M on Feb. 24.  

The remainder of the regular season schedule will be played on the road, with AAMU traveling to Montgomery to play against Alabama State on Mar. 1 and wrapping up the month in Louisiana, against Grambling State on Mar. 6 and Southern University on Mar. 8.  

The 2025 SWAC Men's Basketball Tournament is scheduled to be held March 11-15 at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
