Important updates for fans attending Alabama vs. Georgia game: What you need to know

Fans attending Saturday’s game between Alabama and Georgia should prepare for changes in the entry and screening process due to heightened security.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Fans attending Saturday’s game between Alabama and Georgia should prepare for changes in the entry and screening process due to heightened security. Ticketholders are encouraged to arrive early, as gates at Saban Field in Bryant-Denny Stadium will open at 4 p.m. , 2.5 hours before kickoff. To ensure a smooth entry, it is recommended that fans be in line by 5 p.m.

Before arriving, the University of Alabama advises ticketholders to review the updated stadium map, which outlines specific security checkpoints for different seating areas. It is important to download tickets to mobile devices in advance to avoid any delays.

As part of the enhanced security measures, fans should be ready to remove all items from their pockets, as well as any pinned-on buttons or larger jewelry, similar to the screening process at airports. Non-essential items are advised to be left at home or in vehicles, while shoes and belts can remain on during screening. If a fan sets off the walkthrough metal detector, security personnel will use a wand to ensure safety.

Ticketholders are allowed to bring empty cups, while the list of prohibited items remains unchanged for Saturday's game. The stadium's clear bag policy remains in effect.
