FLORENCE, Ala. — Four weeks. Four awards.

The University of North Alabama has sole possession of the United Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week award for the fourth consecutive week, as rookie linebacker Josh Anglin won the award for the second week in a row on Monday.

After recording 12 tackles the previous week against No. 21 Illinois State, Anglin had quite the sequel with 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry at UT Martin. He tied teammate Gregory Reddick for the game-high in tackles.

Anglin is the first back-to-back Freshman of the Week winner in league history.

The only other player to win a UAC weekly award back-to-back is former EKU linebacker Logan Blake, who won Defensive Player of the Week twice in a row last season. Anglin joins Utah Tech receiver Beau Sparks and Stephen F. Austin defensive back Aaron Sears as past two-time winners. No player has won the award three times.

Anglin is one of four Lions to win this award the last two seasons, joining Jyheam Ingram in 2023 and current rookies Jalen Fletcher and Fred Vili in 2024.

UNA extends its lead for the most freshman of the week awards in league history with five. This tops Utah Tech and Austin Peay with three, Southern Utah and former member Stephen F. Austin with two, and Abilene Christian with one.

The Lions return home for Family Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 21 against No. 16 Tarleton State. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Braly Stadium.
