MADISON, Ala. — The Rocket City Trash Pandas are set to have six special jersey fundraisers, five donation drives, and various community outreach events during the upcoming 2024 season at Toyota Field.
Lindsey Knupp, the Executive Vice President, highlighted the significance of the game-worn specialty jersey auctions.
“When the Trash Pandas wear these specially designed jerseys, they are a fun way for fans to see the team engage with the theme night we’re presenting. Fans of the players, and the theme itself, have the opportunity to take home one-of-a-kind memorabilia. At the same time, we’re raising funds for not only the Trash Pandas Foundation, but also a worthy organization in our community,” Knupp said.
The success of the previous year's specialty theme jersey nights, where fans contributed over $65,000 for local non-profits through silent auctions at Trash Pandas games, has led to the continuation of this initiative. The six scheduled 2024 Specialty Theme Jersey Fundraisers include events like Star Wars , Marvel Defenders of the Diamond, Friends, Space Night, Tuxedo Jersey on Wedding Giveaway Night, and a Huntsville Stars Tribute.
In addition to these jersey fundraisers, the Trash Pandas Foundation will host five donation drives, allowing people to receive raffle tickets for each new/unopened item donated. The collection dates will focus on items such as diapers and baby supplies, pet supplies, beanies, winter hats and blankets, toys, and school supplies.
The organization will also dedicate specific nights during the season to raise awareness for important causes.
