Here's a rundown of what to look out for:
Braves playoff scenarios ahead of Mets doubleheader
The Arizona Diamondbacks finished their season at 89-73. Both the Braves and Mets head into the doubleheader at 88-72.
- If Braves win both games: They get the No. 5 seed as a Wild Card
- If Braves win one game: They also still get the No. 5 seed as a Wild Card, owning a tiebreaker over the Mets
- If the Mets win both games: They get the No. 5 seed and Arizona gets the No. 6 seed
Why would the Braves and Mets advance if all three teams finish 89-73? Arizona loses the three-way tiebreaker between all teams and also two-way tiebreakers against each of the Mets and Braves, according to MLB.com.
